Patna: With the results to the Bihar Assembly elections being eagerly awaited, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders oozed confidence on making an electoral victory in the state, saying the fight is between 'development' and 'desperation for existence'.
"As far as the Bihar elections are concerned, it is the biggest day, it is the D-day and the fight is between two D's, on one hand we have D for development and on the other hand we have other D for desperation for existence," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.
"I am sure that for the benefit of Bihar and the benefit of the nation, development would be victorious, because Bihar has to march ahead," he added.
Patra also said that within hours the people would come to know that it is development and the agenda of taking Bihar forward, which is going to be victorious.
The Lok Janshakti Party leader and NDA ally Chirag Paswan said he was confident that the NDA alliance would form the government in Bihar.
"This confidence comes from the fact that I have campaigned across the state. I have campaigned for my party and all my allies and I have been to every nook and corner of our state seeing the response we got from the people of Bihar," he added.
When asked about the factors that give the NDA alliance an advantage over the Grand Alliance, Chirag said the most important factor for a state like Bihar is development.
"I don't think there cannot be any other agenda other than development for our state," he added.
Meanwhile BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav also sounded confident ahead of the countdown in the state.
"I have full confidence on the people of the state, I have served them to best of my abilities and I am confident that we would win their faith to serve them for one more time," he said.
"The feedback that we are getting from the party workers sates that the NDA alliance would form the government," he added.
Exit polls at the end of the fifth and final phase of polling for the 243-seat Bihar assembly on Thursday indicated an advantage to the Mahagathbandhan over the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), while the Chanakya has predicted otherwise.
Leading news channels and dailies have given an edge to the grand alliance with 120-140 over the NDA with 111-123 seats, while others are likely to get 4-8 seats.
Bihar delivered a record voter turnout of nearly 57 per cent as compared to about 53 per cent in the last state election in 2010.
