Rs 6.5 crore bridge for a smooth ride to Goud’s constituency
The development authority is constructing a 200 metre bridge from Badwel to Kismathpur
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is spending Rs 6.58 crore on a war footing for a smooth ride to the constituency of TRS MLC and chairman of Telangana Legislative Council, Swamy Goud.
The development authority is constructing a 200 metre bridge from Badwel to Kismathpur in the Musi river outlet called Easa. Work has already begun at the Easa outlet. The actual length of the bridge is 150 meter, however, including the approach roads, it comes to 200 meters in length with two carriage ways.
The present road gets flooded whenever there is heavy rainfall. The present traffic flow is 5,000 plus per day on this stretch. J. Krishna Rao, executive engineer of HMDA said, “The bridge is of 150 metre with two abutments and five piers. Each pier is 24 metrEs from Badwel to Kishmathpur abutting to Musi river causeway. Presently, the traffic moves on the Musi causeway and whenever there is heavy rainfall, it is difficult to take this stretch which gets flooded.”
“To overcome this, the bridge is being constructed, abutting the Musi River. The proposal was made by the TRS MLC as it was needed for the Telangana legislative council chairman to visit his constituency. Following approval from the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the construction works have begun,” said the officer of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority.
