AIIMS-like institution to be set-up in Andhra Pradesh soon: Minister
Hyderabad: The foundation stone for AIIMS-like institution in Andhra Pradesh would be laid soon, state Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said on Saturday.
Srinivas, who met Union Health Minister J P Nadda in New Delhi, has got a positive response on the issue of setting up the institute in AP, according to an official release.
The Centre had assured to set up an AIIMS-like institution in Andhra Pradesh post-bifurcation.
Srinivas urged the Union Minister to raise the number of PG seats in the medical colleges in AP, to help set-up a Regional Virology Lab at Guntur and also to support the state in upgrading different medical colleges in the state.
Srinivas met Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik and requested him to expeditiously set up a research centre in Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy in Vijayawada.
He also urged Naik to provide funds for setting up a Nature Cure Hospital at Araku in Visakhapatnam district.
