Sushant Singh Rajput bags the lead in 'Half Girlfriend'
The film directed by Mohit Suri is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book
Mumbai: Bollywood’s favourite author Chetan Bhagat, whose books have successfully been adapted in films, has bagged yet another deal. A year after the launch of his book ‘Half Girlfriend’, director Mohit Suri is coming together with producer Ekta Kapoor to adapt the popular love story on the big screen.
Reports on Saturday confirm that current Bollywood favourite Sushant Singh Rajput has been roped in to play the lead actor in the film. According to a leading daily, the actor had already perfected his Bihari accent, read the book and even perfected and readied himself for the role when he went to audition for the part in Mohit’s residence.
The director was reportedly ‘blown away with Sushant’s sheer dedication’ to become the character, that he knew right there that he found his ‘Madhav Jha’.
This will be Sushant’s first film with the director, who has had struck gold at the box office with the film adaptation of ‘2 States’ that starred Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor. Sushant is currently busy shooting the final few segments of the MS Dhoni biopic ‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ in Ranchi.
