The eagerly awaited sequel will have Amy Jackson playing the leading lady
Mumbai: Speculations were rife that Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth would be coming together for the upcoming flick ‘Robot 2’. However, reports now suggest that the megastar has not yet been approached for the sequel to the hit franchise that initially starred his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the leading lady.
"He (Bachchan) has not been approached for the film yet. He doesn't know anything about it. It is a false news," sources said.
Directed by S Shankar, ‘Robot’, a 2010 Tamil sci-fi film with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya in the lead revolved around a scientist's struggle to control his creation, an android (both played by Rajinikanth), whose software is upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and exhibit human emotions. The project however backfires when the robot falls in love with the scientist's girlfriend (Aishwarya) and is manipulated by a rival scientist (Danny Denzongpa) into becoming homicidal.
The last update for the project was, that actress Amy Jackson had bagged the leading lady’s role in the sequel. She was seen paying a Hollywood costume designing studio a visit to see and try out her specially designed wardrobe for the film. Some of the studio’s previous works include designing costumes for blockbuster hits like ‘Iron Man’, ‘Aavatar’ and ‘Avengers’.
Big B will be seen next in the crime thriller ‘Wazir’ alongside Farhan Akhtar.
