Two fraudsters in water board nabbed
Hyderabad: The Vigilance wing officials of HMWS&SB came across a fake job when they busted two individuals who were appointed fraudulently.
The two were given fake appointment letters with the signature of the former HMWS&SB MD. One was posted as a senior assistant in the Uppal section and the other as technical assistant at Tarnaka section.
Fake orders were also issued deputing such fake candidates to a training programme at Hyderanagar.
The Central Zone DCP has initiated an inquiry into the job racket. The issue came to the notice of the HMWS&SB personnel department through a WhatsApp message.
Chief general manager V. L. Praveen Kumar (personal and administration department — HMWS&SB) said, “A WhatsApp message circulated had the facsimile of the appointment letter signed by the former MD. At one glance we identified it to be a fake letter as the orders are not given by one officer. No departmental officer is authorized to issue an appointment letter, recruitments are purely through the TSPSC. If anyone come comes across these offers, they must bring it to the notice of the Vigilance wing.”
The board has released a cautionary notice stating that posts in the Board are only filled through the Telangana Public Service Commission.
“In this regard, the General Public is hereby cautioned and informed that they should not rely on anybody approaching and promising appointment in HMWS&SB. The HMWS&SB has lodged a police complaint and asked for an investigation,” the water board said.
