Two woman farmers attempted suicide in Mahbubnagar
Hyderabad: Following debts and crop failure, two woman farmers attempted suicide in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts on Thursday. While G. Shankaramma, 48, consumed pesticide at Arepalli of Atmakur mandal in Mahbubnagar district, N. Mangamma 50, of Mallapur village in Peddarisepally mandal of Nalgonda district set herself ablaze and is battling for life with over 80 per cent burns, in a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Both the women farmers were depressed over scanty rainfall and mounting debts. The cases are being investigated.
