10 Congress legislators made Parliamentary secretaries
Nine MLAs and one MLC have been appointed parliamentary secretaries
Bengaluru: To satisfy ministerial aspirants, CM Siddaramaiah has appointed 10 Congress legislators as his parliamentary secretaries. Nine MLAs and one MLC have been appointed parliamentary secretaries. Sources said the CM has decided to attach his parliamentary secretaries to senior ministers for better co-ordination between the departments.
The secretaries are Makabul S. Bagavan (MLA- Vijayapura City), Raju Alagur (MLA- Nagatana), Dr Umesh G. Jadav (MLA- Chincholi), Doddamani Ramakrishna Siddalingappa (MLA-Shirahatti), Chennabasappa Sathyappa Shivalli (MLA-Kundagol) Shankuntala T. Shetty (MLA-Puttur), C. Puttaranga Setty (MLA-Chamarajanagar), H.P. Manjunath (MLA-Hunsur) E. Thukaram (MLA- Sandur) and MLC, K. Govindaraj.
While appointing Parliamentary Secretaries, the CM has considered region and caste. However party MLAs Ishwar Kandre and Pramod Madvaraj, also aspirants for the post, were left disappointed as their names were left out at the last moment, said sources in the CM secretariat.
