Illustrator alters iconic photos of child victims, imagining a happier world

Famed illustrator Gunduz Aghayev focuses on children for his new project titled 'Imagine'. He recreates iconic photos of children affected by war, hunger and other human tragedies. This is a picture of Vietnam War's 'Napalm Girl'.
In a happier place, children would never have to lose their innocence because of such man-created tragedies. Here Aghayev imagines a Disney Castle rising above the ruins like a Phoenix.
After their homes were bombed and became nothing more than ruins, a London boy points out his bedroom to other little kids in 1940.  
No girl should have to lose her childhood and her future because of a forced marriage.
Unfortunately, in most developing countries there are little girls that are being robbed of their childhood and education because of child marriage. Here child brides Tehani (in pink) and Ghada in Afghanistan stand next to their much older husbands.
In an ideal world, no one would be dead because they were brave enough to stand for the truth.
Freedom of speech sometimes extracts a price too high. This was slain Azerbaijani journalist Elmar Huseynov’s son standing close to his father's portrait.
Wouldn't it have been better if Aylan and his family never had to leave their homes? Perhaps Aylan would still be alive and happy playing on some beach.
Syrian refugee Aylan Kurdi's lifeless body was found washed ashore after his family unsuccessfully tried to reach Europe for a better life via the Mediterranean Sea.
We hope for world where children don't have to suffer the effects of any war and feel safe playing with their superheroes.
Another image of children horrified by the terrible war in Vietnam because of they had to suffer unspeakable tragedies.
We hope for an Africa, rather an entire world where nobody would have have to die because of starvation.
Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for this photo in 1993. Tormented by what he had seen, he committed suicide some time later.
