Zoya Akhtar talks about returning National Award she never got, gets trolled on Twitter

The 'Dil Dhadkane Do' director became the butt of all jokes and trolls

Mumbai: Bollywood director Zoya Akhtar said that if she had a national award to her credit she would have returned it given the current atmosphere in the country. "If I had the national award, I would have returned it. It is a peaceful way of saying things, expressing things. I support them," Zoya said on the sidelines of Mumbai Festival here tonight.

Filmmakers like Dibakar Banerjee, Paresh Kamdar, Nishtha
Jain, and others have announced their decision to return their
national awards over the unresolved issue concerning the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and the rising intolerance in the country.
However, Zoya's comments were enough to start a trend on Twitter and soon, the director became the butt of all the jokes and trolls. While some took nasty jabs at her by asking her to refund their money spent on pathetic 'Dil Dhadakne Do', others simply asked her to return Farhan's awards.
Did it go too far? Take a look at few comments and then decide.
