Court called Sarika for hearing

The court had served notices to Sarika and the family members of Anil Kumar
Hyderabad: Sarika, former MP Siricilla Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law who died in a mysterious fire on Wednesday, was supposed to appear at the Nampally court along with her husband Anil Kumar and his family members on Thursday.
The court had served notices to Sarika and the family members of Anil Kumar on Monday. Sarika had filed a harassment complaint against her in-laws at the Nampally court, which had directed the Women Police Station at Begumpet to register a case against her husband Anil Kumar, father-in-law Rajaiah, mother-in-law Madhavi and Anil Kumar’s second wife Sana, whom he had married in 2011.
A case with FIR no 87/2014 under sections 498(a), 494 and 506 of IPC was registered in April 2014 and the trial was in progress. During investigation, the police had found no involvement of Rajaiah in the case and had filed a petition seeking deletion of his name from the case and filed a chargesheet in February 2015 with no 152/2015.
Based on the proposals, the court had served notices to Sarika and Rajaiah’s family to ap-pear before it on Thu-rsday.
“Since allegations against Rajaiah were not established, we sent proposals to delete his name from the case. The trial was pending for Thursday,” said Begumpet Women Police station inspector Janakamma.
Sarika in her complaint had alleged that she was being ignored by her husband Anil Kumar and his family. She alleged that her children were also not being taken care of.
“They are not providing even my basic needs. Even if my children fall sick, there is no one to take care of them. I ask them to at least take care of my innocent kids. Many times I have informed his parents too, but there is no use,” Sarika had stated in her complaint.
She along with her three children were burnt to death at their residence in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.
We didn’t knew of charges: Congress
The Congress feigned ignorance about the criminal case registered against ex-MP S. Rajaiah, who it had nominated for the Warangal Lok Sabha byelection. The party dropped him as news spread of the death of his daughter-in-law and her three children in a mysterious fire at his house on Wednesday.
Asked how Mr Rajaiah had been nominated in the first place, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said, “No one mentioned it to me; AICC is not aware of any such complaint.” TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “We are not aware of any cases against Rajaiah, and I did not receive any complaint from anyone, including his daughter-in-law Sarika.”
