Congress leaders decry Bhadra

According to V.J. Paulose, it was embarrassing to make such comments while continuing as a party member
Kochi: Former deputy mayor B. Bhadra’s statement that she was a victim of bitter factionalism in the Congress has set off a chain reaction with top leaders in the district coming out against her. Greater Cochin Development Authority Chairman and KPCC general secretary N. Venugopal has decried the statement while district Congress committee president V.J. Paulose termed it as untimely. The statement has caught the Congress and the UDF on the wrong foot a day ahead of the crucial poll for the Kochi Corporation council on Thursday.
Mincing no words against the woman leader, N. Venugopal said that it was most reprehensible to criticise the party after enjoying all the privileges and power accorded by it.
According to V.J. Paulose, it was embarrassing to make such comments while continuing as a party member. Former mayor Tony Chammany termed Bhadra’s statement as shocking and unexpected.
