Iraqi student Booked For Attacking traffic PSI
A PSI attached to Shivajinagar traffic police station was assaulted
Bengaluru: In another incident of attack on policemen, a PSI attached to Shivajinagar traffic police station was assaulted by a foreign national, who was arrested by the Commercial Street police later on Tuesday night. Mustafa Talib, 22, an Iraqi national and a student of B Pharma was on his way to a friend’s house when the incident took place.
Investigations revealed that Mustafa, who is a resident of Kammanahalli in a bid to avoid the signal, took a wrong turn and entered into a one way traffic zone on K R Road- Cubbon Road. Traffic police sub-inspector K R Krishnamurthy who was on duty and regulating the traffic around 7.30 pm tried stopping Mustafa. But, the rider hit the cop on duty while he was trying to escape and was caught little further by another cop.
Mustafa was taken to Commercial Street police station and was booked under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) of IPC. The police have seized the bike and have remanded him in judicial custody.
