Hrithik, Varun considered for Telugu remake
Director Koratala Siva who wrote and directed the Telugu superhit Srimanthudu, starring Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, has grabbed a major share of the rights to the film. We hear that he’ll be directing the Hindi version of the film as well. Varun Dhawan’s name was doing the rounds, as producers seemed keen to rope him in.
Now it seems even Hrithik Roshan has shown interest in the project and a producer is in talks with Siva regarding that. The original film has done a business of Rs 150 crore and is still running in theatres.
A source said, “Siva (director) had 50 per cent in the rights, Eros had 25 per cent and the producers had 25 per cent. But now the director has got all the rights of the film and he will be directing the film in Hindi also. Right now there are three different producers wanting to make the film with Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Varun Dhawan respectively. Apparently, David Dhawan has also seen the film twice for Varun.”
When contacted David didn’t deny watching the film. He said, “Yes I have seen seen the film and I loved it. Mahesh Babu is so good in it. But I just feel that Varun is too young to play that role.”
