What wrong have I done, Jacob Thomas asks Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson
The Chief Secretary replied that they were not relevant queries at this point of time
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The tussle between DGP Jacob Thomas and the state government intensified further as the high-ranking IPS officer shot off a letter to Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson asking for the grounds on which his explanation had been sought.
However, the Chief Secretary turned down the query and insisted that Jacob Thomas give a reply within 15 days to the two notices sent to him.
It was following the government decision to seek an explanation from him for the public statements criticising the government decision to move him from Fire and Rescue Services that Jacob Thomas questioned the government’s action.
What are the grounds for which my explanation is being sought?, What evidence does the government have against me? and What mistake did I commit?, are the three queries that Jacob Thomas posed to the Chief Secretary.
The Chief Secretary replied that they were not relevant queries at this point of time. Such queries could be made only once the government decided whether to take disciplinary actions against the officer.
Meanwhile, Jacob Thomas, currently serving as Kerala Police Housing Construction Corporation managing director, sent an acknowledgment to the chief secretary on Tuesday for the two notices served to him. He will have to give an explanation within 15 days.
