The friendship between Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan seems to be only getting stronger. They first collaborated on Chennai Express, which was a blockbuster. Now, they are working together for Dilwale and the buzz is that the two have joined hands again — this time, for Golmaal 4. Rumours say that Rohit and SRK will be jointly producing it.
A source said, “Rohit and Shah Rukh discuss a lot of movies and they have been sharing a great equation since Chennai Express. There’s a good comfort level between them and they often bounce story ideas off each other. Rohit is also keen to remake Angoor with Shah Rukh but that will happen at a later stage.”
As of now, it’s Golmaal 4 for the two of them but insiders say that SRK might only be involved as producer. The rights of the Golmaal franchise were with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision but they have reportedly shut shop. Some say, they have parted ways with the franchise.
With Rohit teaming up with Shah Rukh for a franchise that is known to be Ajay Devgn’s turf, would Ajay be still around? “That’s not clear as of now,” says the source, adding, “Shah Rukh and Ajay haven’t been best friends exactly but after their meeting in Bulgaria, they may have mended fences. It will be interesting to see if Ajay gives his nod to a project produced by Shah Rukh.” Also, in all probability, Golmaal 4 won’t be directed by Rohit. Instead, it’s Priyadarshan who will be calling the shots on this one.
