THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan on Monday said his fight against UDF government’s corruption would continue despite attempts to scare him by foisting false case against his son V.A Arun Kumar.
In a statement, the Opposition leader said after his son quit as Coirfed MD, A.K. Antnoy and Oommen Chandy during their tenure as chief ministers had the issue probed many times but could not get anything.
Now with just six months left for the government to demit office and on the eve of local bodies poll, they have raked up the matter with ulterior motive, he said.
Mr Achuthanandan said the people of the state would reject Chandy’s clandestine operation of getting a report from a tainted DySP to target him.
“Let Chandy and his government conduct probe into the issue, I am not sacred. During the previous LDF government’s tenure Chandy tried to bring up many cases accusing me of misusing chief minister’s office. Land allotment, data centre, ICT academy, all these cases fizzled out in no time as they could not even register proper FIR,” the Opposition leader said.
Mr Achuthanandan said that the Chandy government which was facing serious corruption cases including palm oil, solar case and bar bribe case had pulled out a 20 year old case to get some reprieve.
