Govinda Yadav carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh

Hyderabad/Tirupati: A wanted Maoist from Jharkhand was arrested by Madanapalle police on Monday. The accused, Govinda Yadav carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh. Police spotted Govinda Yadav, 25, a native of Manika town of Jharkhand during a vehicle check on Estate Road. Police said Govinda was a sub zonal commander from 2012 to 2014.
“Govinda joined the Maoists as his land was occupied by villagers. He was involved in several cases including the burning of a JMM jeep,” police said. After his land was returned by the villagers in 2014 October he left the Maoists.
However, knowing about the pending warrant against him for burning a jeep he fled his village and came to Chennai. "He stayed for five months in Chennai and on September 8 he came Madanapalle to stay with his brother-in-law Sukan Yadav. Sukan works for a medal pipe factory in Madanapalle," police said.
