Indian Medical Association state meet at Nilambur
About 3,000 doctors are expected to participate
KOZHIKODE: The three-day long 58th state conference of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kerala chapter namely Teak Med-Con will begin on November 6 at Springs International School at Nilambur in Malappuram district on Friday.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, IMA state secretary Dr A.V. Jayakrishnan, Teak Med-con organizing committee chairman Dr E.K. Ummer, organizing committee secretary Dr K.T. Man-ojkumar and convener TN Anoop among others said that Chief minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the programme.
IMA state president Dr Sreejith N. Kumar will preside over the function. Power minister Aryadan Muhammed will launch the IMA welfare project for differently-abled children.
Minister for scheduled castes and backward communities A.P. Anilkumar will inaugurate the tribal welfare project to be launched by IMA.
The meet would also honour MES state president Dr P.A. Fazal Ghafoor, magician Dr Gopinath Muthukad, Al Abeer Group chairman Alunkal Muha-mmed, Aryadan Shoukkath, KMCT chairman Dr Moithu and actor-director Joy Mathew.
Health minister V.S. Sivakumar will inaugurate a seminar ‘Public Health- Trends of Concern’ organised in connection with the programme. Kerala Sas-thra Sahithya Parishath state president K.P. Arav-indan will present a paper on the subject.
About hundred experts in the health sector will participate in seminars and lecture sessions in about 65 subjects. About 3,000 doctors are expected to participate.
