Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana state government and the State Election Commission to complete the election process for the GHMC by January 31, 2016.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S. Ravi Kumar was dealing with an application moved by GHMC commissioner Janardhan Reddy in his capacity as returning officer, seeking extension of time to complete the election process.
Mr Sivaraju Srinivas, appearing for the petitioner Forum for Good Governance, represented by Mr M. Padmanabha Reddy, stated that on April 27, 2015, the High Court had directed the government and SEC to complete the election process by the end of December 2015.
