October 28 is cut-off date for illegal plots, flats

No illegal building would be spared once the regularisation process was completed

Hyderabad: The long-awaited land and building regularisation schemes were announced on Monday, paving the way for regularisation of lakhs of illegal buildings and layouts across the state.

The cut-off period to be eligible for regularisation is from January 1, 1985, to October 28, 2015. All illegal buildings and layouts that came up within this will be considered for regularisation.

The schemes came into force from Monday and applications will be accepted for 60 days. The government hopes to earn nearly Rs 3,000 crore across the state through these schemes. People can only submit applications online with a Rs 10,000 fee at the time of registration.

The previous LRS/BRS was announced by the YSR government in 2007. Announcing the schemes at the Secretariat on Monday, minister for commercial taxes Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who is also chairman of the LRS/BRS study committee appointed by the government, said this would be the last chance for property owners to regularise unauthorised buildings and layouts.

No illegal building or layout would be spared once the regularisation process was completed within six months.
