Country club turns 25
Rajeev Reddy, the CMD of Country Club, is gung-ho about the leisure infrastructure giant completing 25 years. Starting from scratch, Country Club had a turnover of Rs 500 crore last year. “In our first year, we had a revenue turnover of Rs 1.25 crore and last year we touched Rs 500 crore for the first time. I am hopeful that we will touch Rs 1,000 crore in the next three years,” says Rajeev Reddy.
Talking about the company’s major revenue drivers, he adds, “We have four primary revenue streams — F&B, events and banquets, annual maintenance fee and membership programme for clubs, fitness and vacations.”
It is one of few membership-driven holiday initiatives in the country. Reddy explains, “Country Club is a cost effective way to enjoy a premium lifestyle. The top four reasons according to me are:
Subsidised F&B; Events and Entertainment, apart from weekend family handouts, we celebrate major Indian festivals; Health and Fitness, our clubs have large swimming pools and best equipped gyms; and Vacation Programmes, we have resorts in all the hot spots of India; internationally, we have them in Singapore, Dubai, Bangkok, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.”
