Air Canada launches Toronto-New Delhi direct flight
New Delhi: Air Canada has started direct flight service between Toronto and Delhi. The inaugural Boeing 787 Dream liner flight landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport yesterday.
The Toronto-Delhi non-stop flight would be operated on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday while Delhi-Toronto flight would run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
"Air Canada's flights to New Delhi are timed for convenient connections across the airline's North American network," the airline said in a statement on Tuesday.
In India, convenient connections are also available with Air India and other interline partners to such cities as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and other destinations throughout South East Asia, it added.
"This is indeed a milestone moment for Air Canada and I believe the beginning of an exciting growth path for the airline in the region," Air Canada's VP (Global Sales) Duncan Bureau said.
The addition of this route is very much aligned with our growth strategy, expanding our network and becoming an international powerhouse, he noted.
It is Canada's largest domestic and international airline serving over 200 airports spread across six continents.
