Hyderabad: The Lake Police deployed expert swimmers and fire personnel in the Hussainsagar on Sunday to search for a man who had reportedly jumped off a tourist boat in the lake.
According to the police, a girl had reportedly noticed a man jumping off the boat, the Khairunnisa, a little after 3 pm. She called the ‘Dial 100’ service, who intimated the police. Nearly 90 visitors had boarded the Khairunnisa and the boat set off on its trip at around 3 pm.
When the boat was nearing the Buddha statue, the girl called Dial 100 and said she had seen a man jumping off the boat and crying for help. "We could not find any trace of any person in the water. None of the other passengers on board noticed a person falling down from the boat," said lake inspector K. Sreedevi.
