57.59 per cent voter turnout in the 4th phase of Bihar Assembly polls

Patna: The voting in the crucial fourth phase of the Bihar Assembly elections in 55 constituencies spread over seven districts ended peacefully on Sunday with 57.59 per cent of voters exercising their franchise.
The penultimate phase is crucial for both the NDA and the Grand Secular Alliance. In 2010, the JD(U), which had contested in alliance with the BJP, had won 51 seats. The RJD had won just one.
In the changed political equation, the RJD is being considered a major player with 26 candidates in the fray. The JD(U) is contesting from 21 seats and the Congress with eight. According to sources, caste was an important factor in most of the seats.
