Hyderabad: In an accident on Sunday in Ghatkesar area, Mr Shiva Kumar, a constable working at Amberpet Police station, broke his leg while his sister Sravani died. The two were on a bike when they were hit from behind by a car. Sravani died while undergoing treatment while Mr Shiva Kumar broke his right leg. Shiva Kumar ,24, is a resident of Amberpet area and is working as a constable at Amberpet Police station. His sister Sravani ,20, was in B.Pharm Final Year at a college in Bhongir of Warangal district.
Sravani came home on Saturday and Shiva Kumar was dropping her back on Sunday. When the bike was getting on to the Outer Ring Road through the service road near HPCL at Ghatkesar, an overspeeding Swift car, coming from behind, hit it.
“The duo fell from the bike and Sravani suffered severe head injury while Shiva broke his right leg.” said Ghatkesar Inspector Mr B. Prakash. Both were shifted to a private hospital at LB Nagar in the same car, where doctors declared Sravani as brought dead, while Mr Shiva Kumar is undergoing treatment. Police is investigating the case.
