Ranji Trophy: Tanmay leads Hyderabad’s fightback

Hyderabad got off to a very poor start, losing Danny Derek Prince with only six on the board
Hyderabad: Riding on a cohesive and impressive batting performance, Jammu & Kashmir posted a formidable 460 in their first innings against Hyderabad on the second day of their Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.
However, a doughty Tanmay Agarwal (57 batting) led the home side’s reply as they made 113 for 2 in 41 overs when stumps were drawn.
Left-arm pacer Anwar Ahmed Khan was undoubtedly the best performer for Hyderabad, having picked 5 for 92.
Hyderabad got off to a very poor start, losing Danny Derek Prince with only six on the board. However, Tanmay knuckled down and added 76 with captain G.H. Vihari (36) and stitched together an unbeaten 31-run partnership with Akshath Reddy (15 batting), who’s been pushed down the order for this match. Tanmay consumed 125 deliveries and hit eight fours and a six.
