IPS association backs Vinson M Paul
THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: IPS Officers Association on Saturday showered accolades on ADGP Vinson M Paul who stepped down as vigilance director in the wake of bar bribe case verdict.
The association which met here, also urged members to behave and conduct themselves in such a manner that does not lower the ethos, dignity and esteem of the service.
The caution comes in the wake of remarks made by Jacob Thomas in connection with the investigations into the bar bribe case against Mani and the subsequent reaction of DGP T P Sen Kumar.
The resolution passed at the meeting said: “The IPS Association, Kerala Chapter met today and unanimously placed on record, its highest appreciation for the principled stand taken by Shri Vinson M Paul IPS, upholding the sublime values, the Indian Police Service stands for.”
“He always discharged his duties upholding the highest standards of professional integrity, irrespective of any appreciation or possible criticism. He constantly strived for securing justice to the poor, the helpless and the underprivileged, in the true spirit of service. His concern for the welfare of the junior officers and the constabulary, is commendable.”
“The humane qualities, sense of justice and professional commitment with which he served will be so deeply etched in the hearts of people he came into contact with, that no force can diminish or sully that impression. The professional esteem of the Indian Police Service is enhanced by his work over the last three decades. We, the members of the IPS Association, Kerala Chapter, salute him and stand by him,” the resolution said.
The meeting which was presided over by Manoj Abraham, lasted for 30 minutes. Vinson M Paul and Jacob Thomas were not present in the meeting.
