Gundu Sudharani joins TRS, Dayakar in bypoll fray
Hyderabad: After dropping enough hints for the last few days, finally Telugu Desam Rajya Sabha member Gundu Sudharani has joined the TRS party in the presence of party president K. Chandra-sekhara Rao on Saturday evening.
However, a few hours before this, TD has suspended her from the party owing to her anti-party activities. Ms Sudharani, along with Warangal TRS leaders, went to the Chief Minister's camp office this evening and formally declared her joining the party.
The TRS president invited her into the party by offering a TRS 'kanduva'. However, like many of the TD, Congress, YSR Congress public representatives, who joined the TRS, Ms Sudharani too did not announce any desire to quit the MP post in which she will continue till June 2016.
In the afternoon, TD Telangana Unit disciplinary committee met at the party headquarters and endorsed the resolution passed by the Warangal party unit recommending Sudharani’s suspension from the party over her continuous anti-party activities for the last few days. Disciplinary committee member and former MLC Arikela Narsa Reddy in a statement announced her suspension from the party primary membership.
Meanwhile, Mr Chand-rasekhar Rao handed over the party 'B' form to Musunuri Dayakar, the party nominee for the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll, at the party headquarters this evening.
The CM said as Dayakar hails from a economically backward family, the TRS party would bear his campaign expenditure.
