Separate Wakf board for AP
Centre has given clearance to both the state for approving the Scheme for dissolution
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday issued orders constituting the separate Wakf Board for the AP. A week ago the Telangana government has constituted its separate wakf board after the approval of the Centre to the Scheme for Dissolution and Reconstitution of the State Wakf Boards for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Order, 2015.
The Centre has given clearance to both the state for approving the Scheme for dissolution and reconstitution holding that on and from the appointed day, the AP State Wakf Board
shall stand dissolved and the states of AP and Telangana shall establish their own State Wakf Boards in accordance with the Section 13 and 14 of the Wakf Act. While constituting the Board, the government has appointed S. Md Iqbal, IPS officer and special secretary to min-ority welfare department as a competent authority to the new Board.
