November 5: Tata to roll out T-Hub in Gachibowli

Three lakh sq ft building would be built

Hyderabad: T-Hub India’s largest incubator for start-ups, will be inaugurated by Tata Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata on November 5 at the IIIT Hyderabad campus in Gachibowli.

The T-Hub is a Telangana state government initiative to support technology-enabled start-ups with mentorship in agriculture, healthcare, clean energy, digital communication and media sectors. It has received over 400 applications from start-ups.

The government is tying up with corporates and institutions to provide accelerator programmes to scale up the capabilities of the start ups quickly. Tata Capital is committed to investing a sizeable sum in the corpus earmarked for the T-Hub.

IT minister K.T. Rama Rao told the media that the T-Hub, with a built up area of 70,000 sq ft, would begin operations on the IIIT campus with 150 start-ups in the first phase. A three lakh sq ft building would be built in the second phase.

Mr Rama Rao said the government is in talks with global companies for mentorship. Talks are on with Google, Microsoft, Cisco among others, in this regard.
