Marygiri school lifts CBSE zonal title
The competitions in 142 events were divided into four categories

Kochi: Koothattukulam-based Marygiri Public School lifted the Overall Championship trophy with 861 points as hosts Nirmala Public School (838) finished second in the three-day Central Zone CBSE youth festival that concluded at Muvattupuzha on Friday.
A total of 4200 students from 89 schools in Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts competed in as many as 142 events as part of ‘Thauryathrika 2015’.
Surprisingly, ‘Malayalam recitation’ saw the maximum 70 candidates competing while the ‘English extempore’ saw 68 participants.In the third spot was Jai Rani Public School, Thodupuzha, with 588 points and St Ephrem Seminari Public School came fourth with an overall point tally of 534 points.
Vimala Public School, Thodupuzha, was in the fifth spot with 524 points. The competitions in 142 events were divided into four categories.
Syro-Malabar Church Bishop of Kothamangalam Mar George Madathikandathil inaugurated the concluding ceremony while actress Miya George handed over the Ever Rolling trophy to the winners. Central Kerala Sahodaya Complex chairman Fr Sijan Oonnukallel and Nirmala Public School Principal Fr Mathew M Mundackal were present on the occasion.
