The Montfort Social Institute made the film with the voices of the public belonging to capital region area
Guntur: A short film about the plight of the landless, lease holders and other sections of society is trending in the social media. The film, Amaravati — Making of a Capital City — A Bane of My Life, showcases various sections of society who are the first sufferers.
The Montfort Social Institute made the film with the voices of the public belonging to capital region area. MSI saddened with the absence of schemes/ packages by the government made the video to bring the plight of the suppressed classes of society and put the film on Facebook and Youtube.
Former IAS officer E.A.S. Sarma said the government is claiming about constructing a people’s capital with cement and concrete. He alleged that this would benefit landlords, wealthy
farmers and realtors.
Social activist and Narmada Bachao Andolan founder Medha Patkar lamented that there is no rehabilitation for the suppressed communities and these communities would be forced to live in slums in Amaravati.
