Hyderabad: Energy efficient fans will cost Rs 1,200 each. The AP government has prevailed upon the Centre to reduce the cost from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,200 per fan. The amount will be recovered in 24 EMIs by levying it in their monthly electricity bills. The scheme is optional. The AP government has also managed to get green signal from the Centre to allow fixing of these fans by local electricians so that they get employment. A pilot project of replacing energy efficient fans will be also be taken up shortly in the Narsapuram town.
