CM Chandrababu Naidu threatens contractors to blacklist their names
Nellore: Contractors executing the barrage works on Pennar River at Sangam and Nello-re tasted the wrath of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday. The CM, while inspecting the works, minced no words in rebuking them for snail pace of work and threatened to blacklist them.
"I will see that you won't get work anywhere in the country," the visibly angry CM warned.
Recalling his inspection 15 months ago, he said that there was hardly any progress in the works and slammed them for their negligence. He also pulled up the irrigation officials for failing to speed up the works.
Expressing concern over the outbreak of viral fevers in Nellore district, he underlined the need for coordinated efforts from the officials, heads of local bodies and corporators to contain the diseases. He made it clear to the officials that he will not tolerate anyone if there is any laxity in sanitation.
Meanwhile, the NMC officials launched a sanitation drive in city on Friday afternoon after the CM announced that he is going to inspect Nellore city for two hours on Saturday in view of large number of viral fevers and dengue cases in the city.
Worried over the possibility of CM taking action against them, the NMC officials are seen using earth moving machines to clear the garbage piled up in street corners in several parts of the town.
