He took her to his house while promising to befriend and marry her
Batala: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor on the pretext of marriage in Gandhi camp area here, police said on Saturday.
The victim, a class XII student, complained that the 17-year-old boy met her outside school on October 16 and took her to his house while promising to befriend and marry her later, she said.
The accused raped her in his house while his mother also knew about the act as she had bolted the duo in the room.
On the basis of her complaint, a case was yesterday registered against the minor and his mother. While the accused was apprehended on Saturday, his mother is absconding.
The victim was handed over to her parents after her medical examination was conducted at the civil hospital here, police said.
