With a 13 minute 13 second song, Chitrathile Kootukari, the upcoming Balram Mattannur film Sooryabhadram has reportedly bagged the record for the longest Malayalam film song.
The song, for which Madhu Balakrishnan lent his voice, was composed by Satheesh Vinod and penned by Balram Mattannur himself.
The 12 minute song in Jagadguru Shankaracharya had held the record for the longest Malayalam film song until now.
The film, which stars Preenu Premraj and Tanshi, also marks the comeback of singer Lathika to Malayalam films after a decade. Lathika is the voice behind some of many memorable Malayalam songs like Kathodu Kathoram, Devadoothar Padi and Poo Venam Pooppada Venam. Vijay Yesudas, Jayachandran and Biju Narayanan have rendered the other songs in the film.
