The 2015 edition of the MRF Challenge Series will kick off
Abu Dhabi: The 2015 edition of the MRF Challenge Series will kick off with the first of the four rounds set to be flagged off at the Yas Marina Circuit on Friday. This will be the first time the event will be held at the F1 circuit following which they will head to Bahrain and Dubai before the finale in Chennai in January where the championship winner will be awarded a prize money of Rs 65 lakh
A popular destination for upcoming drivers, the MRF Challenge is quickly becoming one of the important competetions for drivers looking to test themselves and move up the ladder.
This weekend’s lineup will be headed by GP2 driver Nobuharu Matsushita along with Stoffel Vandoorne and 2014 Protyre Formula Renault Championship winner Pietro Fittipaldi. Jake Dennis, who took the third spot in the FIA F3 European Championship this year, will be another major player. Meanwhile, following his win at the 2015 MRF 1600, Karthik Tharani Singh will make his debut at the championship.
The third edition of the championship will feature 16 MRF Formula 2000 cars, manufactured by JA Motorsport.
“The MRF Challenge has been a great opportunity for young drivers to establish themselves, and give drivers the best chance on some of the world’s leading Formula One circuits,” Arun Mammen, Managing Director, MRF Tyres, commented.
