Chhota Rajan’s net worth estimated to be Rs 4,000-5,000 crore
Mumbai: While the Mumbai Police is preparing fresh dossier against Chhota Rajan, shocking details about the erstwhile member of the infamous D-gang has emerged.
According to a report in the Indian Express, the net worth of underworld don is put between Rs. 4,000-5,000 crore, with investments ranging globally. In addition to multitude of property interests in Mumbai and its satellite cities which amount to at least 50 per cent of his investment, Rajan is believed to own a few jewellery shops in Singapore and Thailand, a hotel in China and Jakarta each. He also has stakes in diamond trade in Zimbabwe.
The Crime Branch has so far tracked at least 75 cases registered against him, most of which are under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
Meanwhile it has also emerged that gangster was in touch with a few officials in Zimbabwe seeking shelter in the country with Z-plus security cover. But the officials reportedly declined the request claiming that they did not wish to be seen sheltering a criminal sought by India.
"The officials with whom Rajan negotiated promised to provide the best of health facilities but refused to extend security cover. Rajan suspected that he would eventually be tracked by the Dawood gang, and did not want to be attacked when he was at his weakest — while undergoing dialysis for kidney failure," the article quoted sources as saying.
The Indonesian police also confirmed Rajan's plans to escape to Zimbabwe, saying that he requested to be let off so that he could travel to the African country.
