Bengaluru: A head constable attached to the Upparpet traffic police station was suspended for drunk driving and creating a ruckus after ramming his bike to a car on Magadi Road on Thursday.
Based on the report filed by the jurisdictional police, S Girish, DCP (West Division Traffic) suspended Virendra Kumar with immediate effect and also booked him for drunk driving.
While returning home from duty, Virendra Kumar rammed his motorcycle onto a moving car. Heated arguments ensued when Virendra Kumar who was in an inebriated state created ruckus and abused the car driver.
Curious onlookers soon gathered and one of them informed the jurisdictional police, who rushed to the spot and conducted a breath analyzer check and discovered Virendra to be under influence of alcohol. The police immediately seized his motorcycle and detained him. They filed a report regarding his drunk driving and rude behaviour. “Though the car driver and the constable struck a compromise and did not pursue with any case, we have suspended head constable,” Girish said.
