APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University issues fresh guideline for colleges
Thiruvananthapuram: The A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) has issued guidelines for MBA, MCA and architecture courses.
These course conducted by engineering colleges only will get affiliation to KTU while arts and science colleges will remain with varsities to which they are affiliated now.
Of the 75 institutions teaching MBA and 57 teaching MCA courses, only 24 MBA and 27 MCA colleges are attached to engineering colleges, KTU pro-VC M. Abdul Rahman said.
Only architecture colleges recognised by AICTE will get affiliation to the university. Though there are 27 architecture colleges in the state, only eight have AICTE recognition.
As per the directive of the higher education department, Mr Rahman told Deccan Chronicle, a meeting of heads of 24 MBA institutions attached to engineering colleges has been convened on November 7 to discuss the curriculum for these courses.
