Nagarjuna’s decision to delay his son’s debut film hasn’t gone down well with Akhil

There are many rumours about the debut film of Akkineni Akhil. The film, also titled Akhil, supposed to be released on Dasara, October 22, was postponed due to technical reasons in the last minute. While the new date might be announced any day, Akkineni fans are restless. According to a source, Akhil had started the film’s publicity long back by visiting a few colleges. He had also gone to the US to promote the film.
While Nagarjuna and the makers have been saying that the film was postponed due to some graphic work not being up to the mark, Akhil apparently was very upset when he found that his father was the reason behind the film’s postponement.
“Akhil was unable to digest the news and he didn’t talk to anyone for a few days. The actor was supposed to attend a media conference, but he refused to come. Thus, Nagarjuna attended at the last minute. He didn’t even answer his father’s call,” says a source.
Akhil is under pressure from fans because when the news of the film’s postponement came out, they started getting nasty with their comments and it hurt the young actor a lot. There’s also some talk that Nagarjuna postponed the film to help his friend Chiranjeevi as his son Ram Charan’s film Bruce Lee was also releasing on Dasara. Will Nagarjuna clear the air on the rumours of a father-son rift?
