Akshay Kumar kick starts final schedule of 'Airlift'
The film directed by Nikhil Advani stars Nimrat Kaur
Mumbai: Akshay is one busy man who has his plate loaded with a number of films lined up in the coming days. The actor, who was last seen in 'Singh Is Bliing', is now prepping up for his forthcoming movie 'Airlift'. The film directed by Nikhil Advani, recently wrapped up the final schedule and are now shooting for the movie's teaser shoot.
In an image shared by film's production house on Twitter, we can see Akshay Kumar seated with a laptop across him, engrossed in his thoughts. Producer Nikhil Advani captioned it as, "Teaser shoot. @akshaykumar getting into the zone. @TSeries @abundantia_ent @EmmayEntertain #Airlift #Jan22"
The film revolves around Akshay who plays the role of Ranjit Katyal, a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman. It is based on real incidents set in 1990 in Kuwait the time of famous Gulf war when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. He is supposed to help evacuate 1,70,000 people from Kuwait to India.
Reportedly, the actor will be breaking away from his action avatar completely for this film. Though the film is essentially a thriller, the only action scenes are the movie’s war sequences.
The film releases on Independence Day weekend in 2016.
