Telangana to sell tur dal at Rs 165 per kg via special counters

The government had sold onions from special counters at Rs 20 a kg in August

Hyderabad: With the price of tur dal crossing Rs 200, the Telangana state government will open 10 special counters in the city in the next two days to sell pulses at subsidised rates. The government will sell grade-I variety of tur dal at Rs 165 per kg and grade-II variety at Rs 135 per kg through these special counters.

The government had sold onions from special counters at Rs 20 a kg in August after the prices had crossed Rs 80 per kg in the retail market. Of the 10 tur dal special counters, two will come up in Rythu Bazaars at Erragadda and Falaknuma.

The others will be at Begum Bazaar, Mangalhaat, New Bhoiguda, Chandrayangutta, Addagutta, Golnaka and Saidabad and one more at the Secretariat. Chief rationing officer, Hyderabad, B. Bala Maya Devi held a meeting with Hyderabad Dal Mills and Merchants Association on Wednesday and asked them to provide adequate stocks to the special counters.
