I brokered peace, says Jerusalem Mattaiah
Hyderabad: Jerusalem Mattaiah, one of the accused in the cash-for-vote scam, claimed that he had helped in the recent thaw in relations between the TS and AP Chief Ministers.
Mattaiah alleged that he was used as a toy to approach nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson and his name was also added in the FIR. He alleged that TS government had resorted to illegally tapping the phone of MPs, MLAs and senior officers from AP.
“They feared that KCR would land in Tihar jail and for threatening me, KTR would land in Vijayawada jail. And they even thought that Stephenson was the reason behind the trouble” said Mattaiah in a press release.
He claimed that the High Court and the Supreme Court found him not guilty in the case and to save him, accepted his quash petition and granted stay on his arrest.
“I am happy that I could strike peace between both the Chief Ministers. In spite of facing threats to life from police and opponents, I could do this by being in hiding for the past four months,” Mattaiah said.
Mattaiah also added that he would tour both the states and bring the problems faced by the people to the notice of local leaders and authorities.
