Why Salman said yes to Shah Rukh Khan
Since Shah Rukh tweeted the first look of Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman has returned the favour by attaching SRK’s Dilwale trailer to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
As we had previously reported, the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale is being attached to Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. What we’re bringing to you for the first time, however, is how the association between the two superstars’ films occurred.
Cast your mind back to November 2014, when the two long-warring Khans had finally proclaimed a truce on the eve of Salman’s chhoti behen Arpita’s wedding. The photos of Salman and Shah Rukh, acrimony forgotten, smiling together for the cameras heralded a new turn in their equation.
Then, in the run-up to the release of Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it was Shah Rukh who tweeted the film’s first look. “I believe being a brother is bigger than being a hero. ‘Bhaijaan’ coming Eid 2015. How do u like the first look?” SRK had tweeted, along with a pic of Salman from the film — sending B-town into a tizzy.
So, is it any wonder then, that when SRK’s Dilwale is readying for release, Salman has agreed to have its trailer attached to his Prem Ratan Dhan Payo?
To add a twist, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam director, had requested that the trailer of his Bajirao Mastani be attached with Bajrangi Bhaijaan when it hit the theatres. It is said that Salman had then refused. However, he has made an exception for SRK.
“It was a way for Salman to return Shah Rukh’s gesture… when Shah Rukh shared the first look of Bajrangi, it got a great response and Salman was very happy about that gesture. He told everyone that all is well between him and SRK now… he also wanted to do something for Shah Rukh, the way Shah Rukh had for Bajrangi. When (he) found that the Dilwale trailer would be ready, it was decided that the trailer will be attached to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo,” a well-placed source told us.
