Nisham brutally assaulted Chandrabose for the delay in opening the remote barrier at the gate of Sobha city in Puzhakkal
THRISSUR: Adding another twist to the final trial in the sensational Chandrabose murder case, the first prosecution witness K.C. Anoop, who turned hostile on Monday, became loyal to the prosecution on Tuesday retaining his previous statements given to the police and the magistrate before the trial court.
Anoop said before the Thrissur District Additional Sessions Court during the trial that he was instigated and threatened by the accused Mohammed Nisham’s younger brother Razaq to retract from his earlier statements.
He said that in the wee hours of January 29, Nisham brutally assaulted Chandrabose for the delay in opening the remote barrier at the gate of Sobha city in Puzhakkal.
Anoop, who was the supervisor at Sobha city, said that Nisham thrice assaulted Chandrabose who was on duty at the gate of the high-end apartment.
First, he was beaten outside the security cabin and when Chandrabose locked himself up in the cabin, Nisham broke the window pane of the cabin to gain entry into it and attacked him using the broken glasses, Anoop told the court.
Later, as Nisham went near his Hummer signalling that he would return with a gun, Anoop who was outside the cabin asked the victim to escape through the broken window.
Afterwards, near the fountain inside the Sobha city, Nisham hit the victim with his speeding Hummer. In the impact, Chandrabose fell a few distance away from the fountain on the lawn, Anoop said.
Nisham again kicked and injured Chandrabose who was lying on the lawn and dragged him into the Hummer and drove away towards his flat, he added.
Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) C.P. Udayabhanu said that the witness turning hostile on Monday and stating the real facts on Tuesday would not impact the case.
