VS Achuthanandan says Vellapally Natesan committed Rs 1,000-crore fraud

Mr Natesan had received at least Rs 300 crore in bribe for the posting of 904 teachers
ALAPPUZHA: Leader of Opposition V. S. Achuthanandan on Tuesday alleged that Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan had carried out Rs 1,000-crore fraud through the micro-finance scheme and postings in several institutions under the SN Trust.
He was inaugurating an LDF election convention at Karthikapally near Haripad. Mr Natesan had received at least Rs 300 crore in bribe for the posting of 904 teachers.
"Now, Mr Natesan is setting out to cover up the fraud by leading a rally (Samathwa Munnetta Yatra). Whatever he does, his RSS politics will not take root in Kerala soil," he said.
Scoffing at Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Achuthanandan said the local body poll was an opportunity for voters to slap Chandy's right cheek, as his left cheek was tired of getting enough blows from the Election Commission and the court of law.
"When Mr Candy came to power, the price of rice was just Rs14 per kg. It has now shot up to Rs 40-42. As people are suffering from inflation, the chief minister chooses to make money though corruption. Mr Chandy got half of the amount extorted by con woman Saritha S. Nair," Achuthanandan said.
He also said the Oommen Chandy-Vellapally Natesan-BJP strategy experimented in Aruvikara would not work in the local body poll.
