Pinarayi Vijayan sees Dadri link to ‘beef raid’
He said all was done in the name of a false complaint that beef was being sold in Kerala House
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan said the forces which lynched Ikhlaq in Dadri were behind the police raid on Kerala House.
He said all was done in the name of a false complaint that beef was being sold in Kerala House. "Now, Delhi Police which comes under the Union Home Ministry will decide what is to be served in Kerala House. Under the Sangh Parivar agenda, one can expect similar raids on houses cooking beef. It is strange that the UDF government has not taken up the matter with the seriousness it deserved," he said.
Pinaryi said there was no ban on the consumption of buffalo meat in Delhi, hence there was no bar on cooking and selling it in Kerala House.
On hearing the complaint of fringe groups, the Delhi Police trespassed into Kerala House illegally as part of Sangh Parivar agenda.
Through this raid, the Delhi Police had sent out a message that Kerala House may be a state government establishment but they can do anything.
They didn't take the permission of the resident commissioner. "We will decide the food of Malayalees seems to be the message of Delhi Police which functions under the union home ministry. This is the threat. The fringe groups have conveyed that they can enter any kitchen and indulge in violence. Such attempts which were against personal choice of people on food, required to be counter with all might," he said.
He said the incident had created panic among the Malayalee population in Delhi.
Kodiyeri flays raid
PM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the police raid on Kerala House was an infringement of the state's rights.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme in Alappuzha on Tuesday, he asked the state government to withdraw the alleged ban on beef curry at Kerala House.
"The RSS-minded officers issued a ban order on the sale of beef curry at the canteen of Kerala House," he alleged. "What might happen if such a raid was carried out on (properties) owned by any other state?" "The CM should meet the PM and register resentment," Mr Balakrishnan said.
