People do not want PM’s ‘achche din’: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Innocent people voted for BJP which came to power with the slogan of ‘achche din’

Bengaluru: A function organised by the state government to celebrate the birth anniversary of saint Valmiki became a forum to attack PM Narendra Modi.

CM Siddaramaiah who is in on a three-day visit to Delhi, stayed away from the official function held at Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday. However, the CM's speech was read out in absentia. After two lines paying tribute to saint Valmiki, the CM used the occasion for Modi bashing.

Training his guns on BJP and Prime Minister Modi, Mr Siddaramaiah said, “Innocent people voted for BJP which came to power with the slogan of ‘achche din’. After seeing the governance of BJP-led NDA government for one year, now the people do not want ‘achche din’ but want the previous days of the Congress-led UPA government. Dalits, minorities and BCs are living in fear. In the first innings, the NDA government wanted to revisit the Constitution and now they are taking a re-look at the reservation for oppressed classes. RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat has openly spoken against reservation for SC, STs.”

Social Welfare Minister H. He would discuss with Mr Siddaramaiah the setting up of the Valmiki Study Centre.
